Senari Synergy & PPKS Collaboration in Supporting Government's Up Skilling Competent Skilled Workforce

On 2nd August 2019, Pusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Sarawak (PPKS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd (SSSB), paving the way for both parties to collaborate in the area of Human Capital Development.

Signing on behalf of PPKS and Senari Synergy were PPKS Executive Director, Mr. Hallman bin Haji Sabri and Senari Synergy’s Group Managing Director Haji Jefri Ahmad Tambi. The ceremony was witnessed by PPKS’s Chairman YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr.) Haji Abdul Aziz Bin Dato Haji Husain and Senari Synergy’s Director, Haji Hashim Bin Haji Bojet. Also present was PPKS’s Deputy Executive Director (Education, Training & Student Services Division) Mr. Zakri Md Salleh, Senari Synergy Head of Group Corporate Services, Norashikin Dahlan, Senari Synergy Management Team and PPKS’s members. The signing ceremony was held at International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (iCATS) a subsidiary of PPKS at their West Campus in Kuching.

The fundamental of the MoU is to enable both parties, PPKS and Senari Synergy to collaborate in acknowledging the needs of Sarawak State Government in up skilling Competent Skilled Workforce. While PPKS being well known by offering one of the best Malaysian Skills Certificate in Recognition of Prior Achievement programme, Senari Synergy was in the other hands committed to support Sarawak development initiatives in terms of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) particularly for Senari Synergy staff.

These upskilling programme is to help Senari Synergy’s staff in leveraging their educational level and to enhance their skills. With PPKS’s well experienced trainer, Senari Synergy’s staff also will be able to join a wide range of staff development courses offered by PPKS. PPKS’s students will also be able to undergo on the job training or internship programme at Senari Synergy Group of Companies.

Senari Synergy aspire to be the state flagship for the provision of independent common facilities for the oil and gas and its related industry in Sarawak.

“One key strategic enabler in achieving our aspiration is motivated workforce . Besides focusing on employee wellbeing, nurturing positive mindset and providing conducive working environment , Senari Synergy put a lot of emphasis on career progression of its employee” Hj Jefri said.

“Hence under the collaboration with PPKS, we will be embarking on Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPEL) Program and Multiskilling Program for our technical staff”.This program is dedicated specifically to those experienced staff with the minimum qualification of PMR and served to acknowledge their working experiences, motivate them and also encourage the spirit of lifelong learning”he further added.
