21 December 2017 - IOT Management Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary company of Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd organized a seminar on Control of Industrial Major Accidental Hazards (CIMAH) at a local hotel in Kuching.
The half day session was attended by the officials from various Government authorities, State related agencies, the neighbouring companies that operate within the proximity of Senari Synergy Industrial Complex, where the Independent Oil Teminal storage facilities managed by IOT Management Sdn Bhd is located, and the local community leaders of both Kampung Goebilt and Senari. Also present was YB Dr. Hj. Hazland bin Abg. Hj. Hipni and the Group Managing Director of Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd., Tuan Hj. Jefri Ahmad Tambi.
Tuan Haji Jefri Ahmad Tambi, in his welcoming speech took the opportunity to congratulate IOT Management for the achievement of 7 million Man Hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI). He said, “On behalf of the Board and management, I would like to congratulate all the employees of IOT Management on this latest major safety achievement. Behind this achievement is a solid culture of safety that we have hailed and inculcated with dedicated efforts which extend to all levels of the company to ultimately ensure safe completion of jobs. The health and safety has always been a top priority to us at Senari Synergy and it’s to be adopted by all of the subsidiaries”.
Not forgetting also was the achievement of being conferred a silver award for its inaugural participation in the Chief Minister Industry Excellence Award this year. In addition, a gold award was also conferred to them for their participation at the Productivity and Innovation Conference and Exposition held at National level in Genting Highland.
The audience was briefed on the roles and functions of the IOT Management that plays a critical role in ensuring consistent supplies of the petroleum products of its Users, namely Petronas Dagangan Berhad, Shell Timur Sdn and MyGaz Sdn Bhd to ultimately reach their customers in the Southern Region of Sarawak. Vital information that are pertinent to the industrial players and the kampong communities such as those relating to major potential major accidents and the measures to be taken during such incidents was disseminated and shared during the session. The session was held in relation to fulfilling the statutory requirement under the Occupational Safety and Health (Control of Industrial Major Accident Hazards) Regulations 1996 that is regulated by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health, Malaysia.
YB Dr Hj Hazland thanked IOT Management for organising such an informative event. Simultaneously, he also commended Senari Synergy and its Group of Companies that have contributed tremendously to the socio economic well-being of the local communities. He is proud to note that Senari Synergy has provided employment opportunities as well as embark on its Permata Synergy program where children below 12 years of age within Demak and Bako areas have been adopted to provide assistance for their educational needs in addition of other contributions extended especially during Hari Raya korban.
