In conjunction to Senari Synergy’s support of Quality Environment, Senari Synergy and its Group of Companies had embarked the 5S program and was awarded with the certification by Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC). The award was handed by Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Mohd Razali Bin Hussain, Director General of Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), to Tuan Haji Jefri Bin Ahmad Tambi, the Group Managing Director of Senari Synergy Group of Companies.
The ceremony was witnessed by Yang Mulia Tengku Azmi Tengku Majid, Director of MPC for Sarawak Region, the Management and staff of Senari Synergy Group of Companies together with the representatives from Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC).
Senari Synergy and its group of companies, with the support of MPC, had initiated and implemented the 5S under the Company’s program, Safety@Synergy. Senari Synergy launched 5S in November 2015 and had diligently committed their efforts towards a quality working environment.
5S forms the fundamental, disciplined and systematic approach for productivity, quality and safety improvement in all types of business. It also contributes to cultural change in an organisation especially inculcating disciplined and teamwork. In Senari Synergy, the teamwork spirit was inculcated and emphasized at all levels within the organisation towards sustaining the best practices. Significant impacts of the implementations are seen in the increase in the level of efficiency in all processes with more organised, less errors and safer working environment.
In his welcoming speech, Tuan Haji Jefri Ahmad Tambi, the Group Managing Director of Senari Synergy Group said, “It is a great honour for Senari Synergy Group of Companies to receive our first 5S Certification and we thank Malaysian Productivity Corporation for their support to us in accomplishing a greater Quality and Safety Environment. 5S will not solve today’s competitive challenges, it does provide a solid foundation for achieving operational excellence. In fact, some world-class companies claim that there can be no improvement without 5S. With the support of MPC, we had gained the knowledge on important aspects of Quality Environment and the best practices that we can inculcate within our organization.”
His said, the teamwork and discipline built through 5S improves worker-to-worker and worker to manager relationships and 5S system is not a one-time event. It is a continues process of improving the workplace. A round of awareness has already been completed for departments in Corporate Centre and OPU’s. Corporate Centre will continue to provide trainings for all departments all through the OPU’s and management will stand by to provide all that is needed to ensure that 5S is well adopted and implemented in your respective department & OPU’s.
